NEW! Optional Mountain Bike Wheelset for 26" Bikes!
We're now offering a narrower wheelset for the Large blackbird. This option sets the bike up with 27.5" x 2.1" Maxxis tires on lightweight rims. This removes over 5lbs of weight from the bike, making for a lighter, more maneuverable ride!
The Large frame size can also come with both wheelsets for an additional fee. The 2nd wheelset includes:
27.5" rear wheel with Bafang Hub Motor
Front 27.5" wheel
Pair of 27.5" tubes
Pair of 27.5" x 2.1" Maxxis Tires
The 2nd wheelset does NOT include a 9 speed SRAM cassette or 203mm rotors. These can be transferred from the installed fat wheels, or purchased separately if you'd like 2 complete sets.
"Bolton" Blowout! We're clearing out all bikes with the Bolton label to make room for "Area 13" bikes.
Due to high demand of parts globally, we reserve the right to change to similar or better spec'd parts. Any changes will be noted below.

Incredible, nothing but good! Just FUN!
I do lots and lots research before making a substantial purchase... looked at Rad, Biktrix.. Juiced just to name a few. I almost pulled the trigger on the Rad Rover.. seemed like a lot of bike for money. Im very happy I decided to go with the Bolton Ebike. The bike just flat goes! Climbs hills with ease... makes this 64 year old lady feel like a kid again.. I find myself giggling all the way up. The bike is solid.. very well made. The hydraulic brakes .. in my opinion are the way to go... Kyle Chittock has been incredible, he knows his stuff! His customer service is the best! Take a look at his channel on You Tube. If you’re sitting on the fence, watching his videos will help you make an informed decision. You can really learn a lot! Thanks Kyle. I love my bike!!

The most fun I've had without taking my clothes off
After a pretty hard time getting my 24" fat bike into Canada I have now had the chance to ride it and get used to the handling etc. This bike is awesome fun. It has all the power you could want and on the trails that I use here in BC it really is ideal. My bike has a suspension seat post and front air forks, coupled with the huge 4" fat tires it sure sticks to the ground like poop to a blanket. I did have to replace the derailleur as it was damaged in transit by the shipping company but apart from that, it performs exactly as expected....... actually if I'm honest, it performs better than expected considering I'm a heavy, short, older type guy. Overall I'm glad I went with this bike as apposed to a 26" standard mountain bike. I've taken several falls trying trails beyond my abilities and the bike is still in one piece so that's encouraging. Finally the team at Bolton really helped when it came to getting the bike to me, which as I said was no easy challenge getting it into Canada. Guess I'm a fat guy with a fat bike addiction now.

Wow! This bike has so much power!
Got my Bolton 2020 a few weeks ago and all I have to say is this. Get one. It's got so much power and carries me easily. I didn't expect it to go that fast. It's built well and I'm sure it will last. The fat tires make it nice to ride on trails and pavement without really feeling the bumps. I got the 24'' with the rigid fork and it fits me well at 5'7''. I thought I might want a different seat, but the one that comes with it is very comfortable.

Thanks! This is an awesome bike!
Thanks, Kyle and Jessica for getting my Bolton 2020 to New York in between a snowstorm in northern CA and a worldwide pandemic. This is my second E-bike. My wife rides a Rad Rover. I did a lot of research online and in-person including several test rides. Finally, I decided on the 26" Bolton 2020. After a long wait for the bikes to become available my 2020 showed up last Friday. It arrived in perfect condition just like Kyle said it would. L.T.L freight was worth the wait. The pics on this website do not do this bike justice. This thing is a monster! I am 5"8 and after trimming the seat post (nicely marked for cutting) it was a fit, the bike is tall but I can touch the ground with both feet while seated. I was very impressed with the performance. Torque, speed, and handling are awesome. Kyle's display tutorial video easily taught me how to quickly tune the controller. With top speed and power unleashed I let the beast out of the cage! It is powerful yet nimble. A perfect balance of power and size and yet agile. Rode 30 + miles down Ocean parkway beaches and back. Had my 250 lb. fat butt doing 27.5 + mph on flat ground without pedaling 33+ with pedaling and, barely used 2 bars on the battery. It's not just the overall quality of the components including the really nice upgraded forks that Kyle chose, it is the way they all work together that make this bike great. If you are considering a bike, make Bolton 2020 the bike! Thanks for signing the box Kyle, it shows you care.

My Go-To Bike
I own 3 e-bikes, so I have some experience here. My 24" Bolton is my daily rider, in fact, I have to force myself to put it aside and ride the others. My (older, 500w) full suspension bike is great on trails but feels a bit underpowered after riding the Bolton. The other bike is a folding bike with plenty of power, but isn't as comfortable as the Bolton. To be honest, I bought the Bolton with a fixed fork and found it to be a little rough through potholes. I have now purchased the suspension fork from Kyle and added a suspension seat post, and I simply love riding the bike. It's got all the power I need. In fact, I don't think I've ever ridden in "5" at any time, and I live in a hilly area. Since I ride a lot at night, I feel so much safer on the Bolton. It swallows potholes and, even in wet conditions, gives me solid tracking. If you're looking for a fat-tire e-bike, this is a solid choice.

GREAT Ebike!!!!!!
Got my 2020 Bolton Ebike end of March and I already have 400 miles on it!! It’s fabulous, FAST, lots of power and I really get the LOOKS when I’m riding it!! It must be the first fat tire Ebike in Findley Lake and everybody LOVES it!! I know I love it!! I spent double the money in 2019 for a Trek Super Commuter +7 and let me tell you the Trek bike doesn’t hold up at all to what the Bolton 2020 does!!!! My husband now rides the Trek Ebike and he can’t keep up with me! I have so much MORE power on the Bolton bike! Don’t hesitate to buy a Bolton Ebike you get great quality for the price!!!! You will not be disappointed!

So Excited To Find The Perfect ebike!
Last night I ordered the Bolton 2020 BlackBird Edition with a September delivery. I have spent countless hours reviewing ebikes online, watching reviews on YouTube, comparing specs/weight/size/options/price, checked out a local ebike store and then I watched a video by Kyle on the top 10 things to look for when buying an ebike. At first I thought Kyle was just a reviewer and noticed "Bolton Ebikes" as the channel. So, I watched numerous more videos by Kyle, loved his honesty, thoroughness, ebike knowledge and testing skills, and found this ebike on his site. All I can say is that you have excited a 64 year-old man that hasn't ridden a bike in 41 years. It was a little scary pre-ordering & paying for something that won't be here for 2+ months. What a DEAL on an ebike with outstanding specs. If this ebike does everything Kyle said on the video, I'll be ordering another bike for my wife. Can't wait for the Bolton 2020 BlackBird to arrive in Colorado! Bill

Watts
Glad I ordered the Blackbird. It seems to be a lot of bike for a good price. Be sure you check your state laws. I just found out, here in Nevada 750 watts is the highest power you can have and be considered a bike. Above 750 watts falls into the Moped category, requiring a motorcycle license. Also, it cannot be ridden on bicycle trails.
