Area 13 "Bolton" BlackBird

May to May. I saved for a year to buy this bike. I did my research and was very confident that I was making the right choice in the sea of unknown. We had a long winter with tons of rain and I work 10 hour days but I was able to put 760 miles on this bike in a year. This bike only had to return to the shop one time in a year for an electrical issue that involved two components that were covered under warranty. Friggin" awesome! I mostly ride on the roadway and have a 5 mile route where I can play in the hills and push myself without power to tire out and work on cardio. I also have 20 miles of asphalt and dirt trails with gravel and small hills. I can ride this bike for 30 miles in one day and still have energy for other things. This bike is everything I was hoping it would be. I had knee replacement surgery but was able to get out on this bike and redevelop range of motion quickly and get back to work. It is rock solid, super reliable, easy to ride and fun. Whomever designed this, thought about it because it has some great components, and it goes and stops well. It is versatile and tougher than I had expected. It is comfortable for long rides and nimble on trails. It is faster than all the other e-bikes in my area. The combination of the 750W motor and 52v battery are nearly unmatched in the industry with a bike this size. I have traveled 70 miles on a single charge. The folks at the shop are pretty awesome. They answer questions and are quick to return phone calls and answer emails. It is nice to make a purchase while having confidence in the product, the warranty and the people who potentially will have to help you when something wears out or breaks. I got that with my Blackbird and Area 13. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and am looking forward to doubling my mileage for this year. Cheers!

I put the bike together and the threads securing the left peddle in place came out with the peddle inside the first day of owning it and having it assembled. I reached out to the seller via email and they didn't respond. So now, not only have I got to get someone locally to source and replace the part but I don't have the bike to ride during that time. Disappointing. Giving two stars because in the short time I was able to ride it I had a blast.

With the video the assembly was note that difficult (see below). The bike was better than anticipated, very high quality and attention to detail. At the discounted price it basically can't be beat. A few minor issues probably from shipping. The front fender was bent a bit and had a small crimp making mounting difficult. As the headlight mounts with the fender mounting the headlight was also difficult and I had to modify the light mount as well so it would not rub against the bike frame. Still putting the bike through its paces but so far it has been great.

I have been enjoying the Blackbird so far. I have had no issues. Battery life is great. Handling and comfort are also very good.

This bike is a TANK. I had been researching e bikes for months. I definitely chose the right company and the right bike. Time to start accesorizing!!!

The blackbird has allowed an older rider like myself to go where my tired old legs can't take me. Love it !

I own two 26" fatties but neither were trail able so when I saw these (BOLTON) 24" trail ready I fell in love and wouldn't you know it Kyle had a giveaway contest! MERRY CHRISTMAS 2 ME! I WON....now let me tell ya, this 24" trail fatty is FANtastic! It handles like a dream (a bit stiff as should be) and the 4.0 knonbies make turns flawlessly. Equipped with a 48v 750 (7 speed)power station it's zippes the hills and flys on the open roadways! Every thing is great. It arrived with the wheels, seat and handlebars off. I assembled it in about 30 minutes. I have put about 90 miles on it. The brakes need to be adjusted but overall a fast bike. Most of my riding is on the beach sand.

Kyle did some work on a Rad Rover, replacing the stock daFang 750 W motor with his version of a 750 W motor along with a 52 volt battery, racks and other options. Bike works spectacularly for my 6' 1' 230 lb body. The bike handles very well and the electric boost performance is far superior to any other of the bikes I tried out, prior to purchasing from Kyle. His followup was great and well received by both my wife, (who also bought a bike from Kyle) and me. I would definitely purchase another product from Kyle, his videos are amazingly beneficial and well worth the time to view if you are in the e-bike market. Thanks Kyle!
