The steel has been upgraded to 51crV4 with a black zinc plating. This means the tool is stronger and more resistant to corrosion.
We still recommend using a penetrating lubricant prior to removing freewheels as many have been seized on after years of use.

Having trouble removing a pesky freewheel on a Bafang 750 watt motor? Due to the large motor plug, standard tools just don't work! We've taken on the challenge and decided to make our own.

Works on both Shimano and DNP FreeWheels.
Flats are designed for a 23mm wrench.

While the tool does work If ya gotta use alot of pressure to remove the freewheel (most freewheels ya do) The tool will warp on the end where the wrench goes Now it won't slide back over the nut and will have to be cut off In this case Sadly the tool is one time use

While the tool does work, The edges of the axle nut need to be gently filed down a bit for the tool to slide over the nut The tool is thin where the wrench goes If ya gotta use alot of pressure to loosen your flywheel the tool will warp on the end where ya used the wrench Now the tool won't slide back over the axle nut, Sadly in this case the tool is one time use because it will have to be cut off, This end of the tool should be designed thicker with a hex nut style for a wrench

If you want or need to change the free wheel on the Bafang 750W hub motor this is a must have tool. I tried some of the "YouTube" recommendations and none of them worked. The free wheel was tight and this tool worked perfect with the only issue was that the nut I had on the two motors was 0.005" larger than the inside diameter of the tools so I had to file the corners down on the nuts a very, very small amount and then I was able to insert the tool and remove the free wheel. Love Area13 E-Bikes, they supply good products at good prices and it's typically the first place I go when I need an upgrade or replacement part. Thanks, Stacy

Thankful for this tool. Successfully changed the freewheel. I still had to file the axle nut slightly in order for it to fit through the tool, hence only 4 stars.

Excellent...
I needed to use a Dremel to grind the edges of the nut so it would slide over easily. Apart from that, it worked OK.
